Personal Events When Admin?

I am the root user on my site "duh" and I wanted to add an event to my personal calendar. When I clicked on "add event" from my personal calander it took me to the site event submission page. Is this normal? How would I go about adding personal events to my calander without adding it to the site events first?

Actually, the calendar was never meant to hold your personal events. Instead, the idea was that you could pick your personal events from the events in the master calendar.
In other words: All events are public and you can only create your personal selection of those events.
Try adding a personal event as a "normal" user - you'll see that it will be submitted to the event submission queue. The event submission form even has words to that effect ...

Hmmm I have to disagree with you on this. When logged in as a "normal" user you get an option as to which calander you wish to submit to, "Personal" and "Master". In fact I changed the submission form to reflect this, I thought the text was just over looked in an upgrade or something.
I just was wondering if this option could be available for "Admins" also.
Thanx for any help or insight.

Oops, you're right (shows how often I use the calendar ...).
As I see it, the problem is with the redirect in submit.php. An Admin trying to submit an event is always redirected to the Admin's version of the event editor - but that editor is only for events in the master calendar. I guess submit.php should check if the Admin is trying to add an event to the personal calendar and, if yes, should not do the redirect.
I guess someone (hint, hint) should submit this as a bug (or maybe a feature request) ...
bye, Dirk

I came across this issue a long time ago by accident whenI realized that personal events CAN be added to the Master calendar, even as admin.
Go to My Calendar and select the day of the event. At the bottom of the hourly schedule, fill in the Quick Event fields. This does not send to the Master calendar, but to your personal calendar. Later simply edit the event to add your desired details.
Hope this helps.-----Ted(Ectropian)
