FATAL ERROR!!!
AbsoluteBeginner
Anonymous
I have previously sent this query in before but stopped getting replies. The problem I have is to do with installing Geeklog. When I run the installation script (install.php) and enter the correct path it comes up with a screen that says:
Fatal error: Failed opening required 'C:/www/geeklog/system//classes/mysql.class.php' (include_path='.;c:\php4\pear') in c:\www\geeklog\system\lib-database.php on line 105
What is the problem?
Thankyou.

Well, the first thing to check when you get a message that a file could not be loaded is to check if that file does really exist. Obviously, there is no file "mysql.class.php" in the geeklog/system/classes directory - it's in geeklog/databases.
I'm not sure how you managed this (did you change anything in lib-database.php?). For one, it seems like the path you entered in the install script was wrong. I can only assume you entered c:/www/geeklog/system/ while it should really have been c:/www/geeklog (without a slash at the end, as it says in the install script).
Again, you only need to change $_CONF['path'] in config.php and the path to config.php in lib-common.php. Leave all the paths in all the other files alone! If you changed any other files, please revert those changes before you try again.
Also, instead of posting the same message over and over again why did you not come into IRC (as suggested earlier)? Problems like these are often easier resolved "face to face" than via dozens of postings and emails ...
bye, Dirk

I have started a fresh. It now works. But now another problem has occured. After Step 2 it says :
Warning: Access denied for user: 'username@localhost' (Using password: YES) in c:\www\geeklog\system\databases\mysql.class.php on line 104
Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Access denied for user: 'username@localhost' (Using password: YES) in c:\www\geeklog\system\databases\mysql.class.php on line 104
Cannnot connect to DB server
Why does this always happen to me??
Also I have tried IRC (irc.freenode.net). There is nothing on it. It just says : noch nix hier

good lord man.... do you even try reading the documentation before you come here? If you even have mysql set up, it obviously doesn't have a user called 'username'... TRY changing that in the config file to WHATEVER user mysql does have.... try root with no pass, not safe, but every default mysql installation has it...
also, about your irc problem... have you tried to /join a channel, or do you just sit there, expecting something magical to happen? ---.:Matrix9180:.

Sorry, but I am new to IRC and don't know how to access it.
Geeklog is now working, but not fully. When I load the page none of the images are working??
Neither are any of the links??
