Weird problems!

Ok, this is something new to me but here's what I got from 2 users: Once they log in, they can see complete top menu, and they loose some of the menu manager menu items, but when they logout, they loose some items from the top menu and they get some items in the menu manager menu. They deleted cookies and are experienced users, but it's just weird to see it happen. They also see different names for the items while logged in, and different names while logged out. The names have changed once or twice, and they still see the old names untill they logout. Any hints?

I must admit I have no idea what you're talking about ... What do you mean by "menu manager"? Are you using Tom's Menu plugin? bye, Dirk

If you are using my menu plugin, then perhaps these users have custom menus -- that would explain the side menu changes. Turn off custom menus and push the button on the admin page to delete custom menus. I have no idea why the top menu would be changing, I do not change that one in the menu plugin. Tom

umm... this guy that's having problem has a username that contains the character "!". Could this be the problem? I can't change his access rights, the check boxes still stay checked, and also, the problem is there for another user that has number "4" in his username. Darn weird!

Umm, now I can't set access rights for 2 users - the "!" and "4" one: all the check boxes for them are ON, and when I unselect them and click save, I get a nice message saying "it was all saved succesfully", but when I log out, log back in and enter the user administration, their check boxes are ON again!!!

Sounds like database problems to me. The ! and the 4 should not cause any problems in the usernames -- I just tried them and they work fine. Shut down the website. Backup the database. Shut down the database and run database maintenance. Check you disk. Try it again. Tom
