User mistakenly deleted. All his posts and contributions are still there, but he's registered again. Now, he's ID is not the same as it was and his submissions don't "belong to him" or anyone anymore. How do I change his id to the one that existed before? I tried changing it in 2 tables, users and userprefs, but he got sql error when he tried to login afterwards.

It might be easier to convert his original GeekLog submissions to use his new ID. It's likely that GeekLog uses the same field name throughout the database to specify the user ID so using the search feature of newer versions of phpMyAdmin should allow you to find them easily.
