Error in Search.php

I'm getting an error in my site whenever I do a search or call search.php:
L. Whitworth
1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ') ORDER by username' at line 1
The error log shows:
Tue Nov 12 12:47:43 2002 - 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near ') ORDER by username' at line 1 SQL in question: SELECT uid,username FROM gl_users WHERE uid in () ORDER by username
This is the search.php from the 1.3.6 core install.
Can anyone help me out?

This is a well-known problem (I'm too lazy to search now, but it has been discussed here before) and will go away as soon as you have a story on your site ...
In other words: It only happens when you have no stories on your site.
