Tying *nix accounts to GL accounts

Does anyone know if there is a hack to tie the local unix/linux account to the geeklog account? For example, if you wanted to give certain users a local account on the server.

It should be easy. Read this article. You'll need to hack Geeklog a bit to use the code from that article and to take out features like registration, emailing passwords, etc. If you know PHP you can probably have something in a day or two.

Sorry, but just making sure... This article assumes that you don't use shadow passwording which is overall a little insecure don't you think? I wouldn' use this procedure at all. What about ldap?
