Odd error in News block

Please review the below listed warning..... I have installed the News block and I get this error when you click on more news in the block ....

Warning: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: No address associated with hostname in /path/to/geek/log/public_html/news/top_news.php on line 50

Warning: fopen("http://www.newsisfree.com/HPE/xml/feeds/43/1843.xml", "r") - Bad file descriptor in /path/to/geek/log/public_html/news/top_news.php on line 50
