I wish to restore a backup created by the geeklog admin. I dropped all of my geeklog tables then loaded the output file created by the backup, but all I get is the following error message: Error SQL-query : * - * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * - * - * - CREATE TABLE banned_ips( host_ip varchar( 255 ) default NULL ) TYPE = MyISAM MySQL said: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '--------------------------------------------------------- -- -- CREATE TABL' at line 2

Try it from the command line:

mysql -uusername -ppassword -Ddatabase_name < your_backup.sql

So what do you do if you don't have command line access? That's the boat I'm in. I think the DB Backup needs to be REDONE so that it works from the command line AND through phpMyAdmin. The "---" throws phpMyAdmin off every time!

Open your sql file in an text editor and remove the "---" by hand. It's the only way I was able to do it too. It's tedious but it works.

Try using your editor and replacing all -- with // to indicate a comment.

That would be a problem with phpMyAdmin. The backup is down with mysqldump, no intervetion from geeklog code.
