Spaces in User Names?

I am setting up a new site using GL 1.3.6 and some of my beta testers have registered using spaces in their user names. I see no mention of not using spaces in the account sign up screen, but the admin user screen says not to use spaces in the user name. Will the spaces cause any problems?

I too am curious about this. 1.3.9sr1 seems to work just fine with userids that have spaces in them, though in the admin screen, there is still a warning about not using spaces. And it should be noted that in the registration screen for new users, it does not mention to them to not pick a userid with a space in it.

There should actually be quite a few posts on this (can only find this one right now, but this has been discussed a couple of times already).

No, it's not a problem to use spaces in the username.
