Installing plug-in with root user

Hi everybody! I have downloaded some plug-ins and many of them need to user root to install. My problem is that I only have the default users (Admin and Moderator) so I am not able to successfully install the plug-ins. So everytime I have logged in as Admin and execute the install.php I receive a message with the following info: Only Root Users have Access to this Page. Your user name and IP have been recorded. I had the same problem with a plug-in that needs the user Admin. So I think I need to change my configuration in order to install all these plug-ins. Here is the list of plug-ins I tried to install: external, filemgmt and stats Thanks in advance, Alfonso.

Not sure what your problem is - the default Admin account IS the root user ... Did you change the Admin account in any way? bye, Dirk

I have the same problem. I've got 3 admins for my page. I installed the STATS plugin and gave my 2 other admins the "stats admin" permission. They can look at "Visitor Stats" under the "Administration" block (where they can add IP's and nicknames that should not be logged and they can they can stop/start the capturing), but they can't look at the "Visitor Stats" under the "User Options". The stat-plugin rants about "root user" and that their "IP's has been logged" (and btw, where can I see these logged IP's? could be useful in the future). Thanks for great plugins and a great BLOG! Keep up the good work!
