DB Backups - General Question

About what size are your DB Backups? Just curious. Mine's clocking in at 1,197,707 with only about 20 users signed up (site's not open yet) and not a whole lot of content. Like I said, just curious.

When we moved the site from SourceForge, the database dump had 7.5 MB (with approx. 2000 stories). bye, Dirk

I have 100 stories and am at 4 MB. Why so big? I do allow HTML formatting and almost every story has an image.

what exactly is backed up? just the MySQL db? Are images uploaded with stories embedded in the database?
