Hi - I've been learning / installing / customizing geeklog for a couple of months, but before I put up a live site I'd like to get a hosting company that would host and let me do setup, customization etc.
I found one called opensourcehost.com, which looks like the right thing -- has anybody used them? Or are there any other ISPs that you WOULD recommend?
Thanks.

I've had lots of luck with powweb.com - I host multiple sites from one account with no problems. I could get a free month for referring you, but that's up to you
No shell access, but CGI, php, MySQL, OPS control etc.

Pair Networks has a number of account options that will run just about any CMS you want. They recently started promoting Geeklog in their customer newsletter, which is how I heard about Geeklog. Of the half-dozen hosting services I've used over 7 years, they are by far the best value.

I have used Pair Networks for the last three years and highly recommend them. Their service is constantly getting better - great user pages - more services for the same money - helpful staff, etc. I've never has a bad experience.

I have been with pair.com for 7 years too. I run geeklog for serveral years. They do not allow rss files. They make an exception for me but then suddenly they pulled the plug on me. All the work went down the drain. I had to start from scratch on another company. pair.com was not nice. They allowed me only two days to access the databases and then they closed them down permanently.
