Well, what did you expect? That file is in XML format (actually a specialised version called RDF/RSS). It is not meant to be displayed in the browser but to be read by an application. Geeklog can read RDF files and display them in a block - that's what the portal blocks are for. bye, Dirk

Thanks, Dirk, for the response. I will experimnet on this. My problems is that I stayed with MS FP too long and I feel I am in strange universe noweadays. I do not have the basic concepts of this type of function. How do I set up newsfeeds on my geeglog? George

It's already set up by default. http://yoursite/backend/geeklog.rdf is the URL to your RDF feed. bye, Dirk

Hi Guys, Can I extend this thread slightly? I am new to Geeklog and worse than that I have installed it on Windows. I used Winzip to unpack the tar file. This refuses to unpack the geeklog.rdf file which is 0 bytes in size. My config.php file has the default settings $_CONF['rdf_file'] = $_CONF['path_html'] . 'backend/geeklog.rdf'; $_CONF['backend'] = 1; I have created a directory called backend and even created an empty text file called geeklog.rdf. The rdf file is only a text file so it will always start with no data. There is a process in the lib-common.php which writes to this text file updating the articles. This process is called every time a user clicks on the index.php page. I noticed some article talking about security privileges so I gave everyone read and write access to the rdf file. I then refreshed the index.php page in my browser which intern updated the text file. Hope this helps.
