I ask because my ISP changes my IP sometimes... When that happens I have to go back into the config file and change it... I tried a bunch of different solutions but none seem to work... Besides using a service like no-ip or dyndns is there any other value I can put into line 88?... This is the line... // make sure this is the correct URL to your site (no trailing slash) $_CONF['site_url'] = 'http://0.0.0.0:port/community/portal'; Thanks for any input

Your ISP doesn't have a domain name to use?

That's why it's better to use a domain name instead of an IP address there otherwise you could be changing it a lot.

But even cable companies will give you a fixed domain name even when your IP changes. At least around here.

I use the dynamic DNS service at dyndns.org for my dynamic domain name. Then I use ddclient to keep it updated if my IP address for the ISP changes!

Most isps will kick you if you get caught.

What do you mean? it changes but I heard their is something that stays stable... Is it my pc name? is it safe to use? What is the cables stable name even if they change your IP?---Victor B. Gonzalez

You have 2 options... 1) Pay your isp for a static IP.. most cable companies I know will do that for $5 or so. 2) Pay your own domain ($15 for a year) and pay for a subscription at dyndns so you can use your name with their dynamic name servers (a one time fee of $45 I think)
