I understand Blaine created the wonderful forum plugin but I have several reasons why I would like to stick with phpBB2.0.4 at the moment...So far I've come across two hacks for phpBB2... Which to use? One is a hack that requires a new install of phpBB2 and the other requires a bridge...On Windows which is less complicated? I am leaning on the bridge and am wondering if anyone put together any really good walk throughs for it...Also, is the phpBB2 plugin support dead in the water now because of the forum plugin?

I was running the CMS Bridge with phpBB for quite sometime. Other than the occasional hiccup with sessions (sometimes the CMS Bridge phpBB forum would not recognize the GL logged in user) the two worked great.

You can see a live demo in action here.

In addition, I also released a CMS Bridge/GL package that contains custom code for integrating CMS Bridged phpBB installation with Geeklog. You MUST have a working CMS Bridged phpBB/Geeklog install before applying the code included within this package. This package does NOT contain the CMS Bridge application or installation instructions for CMS Bridge! You can grab the package here.

On a final note, I have not tested the CMS Bridge on Windows, so be forewarned. You can however search my site for CMS Bridge issues. I seem to be one of the few GL with several CMS Bridge related posts.

Like you, I used Blaine's Forum for a bit...but there were some features I and the members of the site needed that wasnt in his forum plugin at the moment. So I switched over to phpBB203 with the CMSB Bridge. It took sometime for my friend and I to set it up. But we finally got it done (http://www.theonlinezone.net). Also used Squattys CMSB Bridge/Geeklog package to intergrate both phpBB203 and Geeklog even further. Once you get it working, it works great!---Owner and Editor in Chief of FFOzone.com Next Project - Project: OZ

I am using 2.0.4 and some of my friends and family are all using 2.0.4 as I installed it... I am wondering if there is some sort of passport system that would not just work with phpBB2 but work with just about anything... I personally use Blaines forum plugin and I like it... Could use a graphic hookup but besides that it is really cool... I really like it... Just trying to hook the latest Geeklog with the latest phpBB2 is probably more hassle than its worth... Damn...---Victor B. Gonzalez

Hi, I also need to integrate phpBB with Geeklog. I do not want to use double scroll bar (iframe) to make this integration. I am considering to switch to phpNuke to be able to use phpBB in my portal. But I prefer to use GeekLog with phpBB.. GeekLog is the best .. Thanks Troy http://bannerchain.com Traffic Generating System
