How do you remove the graphic borders that envelope the forums and top navigation?
What should I be looking at?
How do you remove the top navigations table?
What should I be looking at?
Ultimately I would like no graphic border o nthe forum and for the top navigation to look like the phpBB2 navigation... Icons on the left of the menu items...
Can someone tell me the files I should be looking at?
Thanks in advance

You probally want to edit the forum_outline_header.thtml and the forum_outline_footer.thtml theme files. Togeher these two would create a single complete outline frame.
You can easily edit the HTML in these files but recognize that there are some table defintions in there that must remain.

I put together a forum theme that matches some of your requirements. It's been customized to look pretty with the Simple Orange theme. You can download it here. See it in action here. You could use this as your base and work backward.

Maybe I am killing myself but I edited the following and get no results...
forum_outline_header.thtml
forum_outline_footer.thtml
navbar_members.thtml
navbar_nonmembers.thtml
I cleared my browser cache on a blank page, refreshed it and see no change...
Squatty, your forum is exactly how I would like my forum to look, you got the idea but I think your install guide needs updating because I think things changed for forum 2...
I appreciate your help on this but is there something else I should be looking at in trying to create my own themes? Editing the above files yield no change, sorry ---Victor B. Gonzalez

I've got to ask... Why is it I should put the themefiles/forum into my layout directory when I don't even need it?
Trying to change the layout editing those files yield nothing so I deleted the entire themefiles folder... Everything works great without it... Am I missing something?---Victor B. Gonzalez

My forum theme is for the 2.0 forum release. I'm guessing you're not seeing any results because you are editing the wrong files or the files you are editing are in the wrong location.
Where are your template files located? I have all forum theme files located under /path/to/geeklog/public_html/layout/Simple_Orange/forum

yes, I have them in the correct place... I am sorry... I meant I was unable to edit the regular boxed version theme and (the files Blaine told me to edit) and as for the orange theme I am completely unable to activate it...
Sorry but something confusing is going on... I can completely remove the themefiles folder and yet nothing would break or stop working.... Yet if I simply change my display preferences the I would get a template error tryingto access the forums...
I don't know what is going on but something is not right...
