if i was to create a script with say...function blah(){}can i add that to a block with geeklog..or does it has to be intergraded in lib-common.php?

The short answer is "Yes" ... But it's a bit more involved. Any custom code should be placed in {geeklog_dir}/system/lib-custom.php. This file is included by lib-common so any functions you place in there will be known. You should then look at any of the contributed blocks or the example in lib-custom. It depends what you want to do with this function as to the next steps. A good reference would be the Plugin Developers Guide - under Project Resources. Blaine
