Default to 'Show Only in Topic'

I searched for this, and although there was a similar question last month, it was never responded to. I am running ver.1.3.7 Currently, all contributions their Mode defaulted to "Show in Front Page". I would like to change it to "Show Only in Topic". Can someone please point out to me how I can do this. Thank you.

Look at story.php in the admin directory on about line 113 you will find: $A["statuscode"] = 0; change this to $A["statuscode"] = 1; Viola TomW

Tried this - it didn't work! Any other ideas? does it make sense to change the $frontpage var?
