When i add a story to my site all the text gets clumped together even though I make spaces in the text. what can i do to stop that other than <-br> Thanks

It sounds like you have the post mode set for "html formatted". In this case, you have to insert html tags whereever you want line breaks. You can change the mode to "plain old text" and just skip lines to do the line breaks.
