Static Pages URL rewrite?

Cyanide

Anonymous
Hey all - first off I'd like to say over the past month of developing my site ( MassUnderground soon to be .com ) I've found GL to be pretty tight. Although I don't have a ton of time to devote to customization I have been working a few things out and it's starting to get there. I do have one question: is there a feature (or planned feature) for the static pages plugin to be able to specify the URL for the page so it doesn't look quite so ugly with the numeric date and whatnot? It'd be handy to be able to input a name and then either have it save the page with that name or use php to rewrite the URL. Other than that it'd be nice if someone was so kind as to document some of the variables that I find when combing through the layout files, which would facilitate easier theme generation or layout hacking. Anyway thanks to the team for a great product and to all the users and contributors for sharing their experiences.

This has already been implemented in the CVS version.

Why don't you be that some one and help do this? Open source is powered by all volunteer help.

Until a fix is ready, you can always use PhpMyAdmin to change the page names. Using PhpMyAdmin, browse to gl_staticpage and edit the sp_id for your page. Richard

You are really way behind the times Richard. The fix has been done for almost a month.

As has been mentioned already, the version of static pages that is in CVS will allow you to edit the page id (and change it to something more readable). This will be part of Geeklog 1.3.8 for which no release date has been set yet ...

An incomplete list of the theme variables is available here. If anyone wants to extend this, please feel free to do so ...

bye, Dirk
