Submitting story problem

I just upgraded from 1.35 to 1.37....however now when I attempt to submit a story, the buttons that usually say "PREVIEW", "SUBMIT" etc don't have any text in them at all. If I hit the one that is usually submit, it just takes me back to the storyadmin page.

Make sure you've updated the language files and the themes as well.
There were a lot of theme changes in 1.3.6, specifically to move hard-coded English texts to the language files. If you've customized your theme, make sure to replace the theme's admin folder with one from one of the standard themes. A complete list of the theme changes is in the docs.
