Im having an email problem in Geeklog.
Whenever a new user tries to register or if I try to send a story via email, the email never shows up.
I have seen this error flash on the screen after pressing submit on a new user registration:
Warning Server Error in C:inetpubwwwrootpublic_htmlusers.php on line 317
Here is a copy of my users.php lines 313 to 317 if this helps.
313 mail($A["email"]
314 ,"{$_CONF["site_name"]}: {$LANG04[16]}"
315 ,$mailtext
316 ,"From: {$_CONF["site_name"]} <{$_CONF["site_mail"]}>rnReturn-Path: <{$_CONF["site_mail"]}>rnContent-Type: text/plain; charset={$charset}rnX- Mailer: GeekLog $VERSION"
317 );
Thanks for your help.

What do you exactly mean by correct settings of php.ini?
I am still questing a practical answer to this question and related
one after exploring last week-end all the records of this site and
other GL related.
It seems that the connection settings between geeklog and a
sendmail in localhost or remote sendmail, do exist somewhere since
this site and others do function very well?
So, as second naive question, is this information a secret for good
friends or a business information matter?
Thanks in advance,

No, no secret handshakes are needed. Some, not all, people who run Geeklog on windows have experienced some sort of email problems. Some of these have been setting related and some haven't. What Dirk is suggesting is that your problem may be an incorrect setting in the php.ini file. Why don't you post the lines from that file relating to email then perhaps someone can help point out where it's off if it is??

Thank you for your kind proposal.
Well I'm a user not a hacher. The web site I prepare is for a non
profit organisation. I'm running Geekog with all plugin apparently
perfectly on Mac OSX 10.2.6. I've created the php.ini from scratch
where there is only two lines:
admin% more /usr/local/lib/php.ini
register_globals = on
sendmail_from = my@email.address
I supposed that I have to write also whether and where a remote
sendmail or mail server should relay the message send by
GL.Through a backend? an smtpclient? I can use the local sendmail
for devlopment but later, not for production: I will have to use a
remote server.
However the php function SMTP is restricted to Wintel business.
so I'm blocked knowing from this site that there is a solution for
unix boxes including OSX one, but where ??.
