I'm workin on a new site with a fresh install of GL1.3.7sr2 and a brand new install of static pages 1.2 (install went fine).

The "Edit" link that appears at the bottom of a static page (while logged in as StaticPage Admin) retains the "old?" link system : "/staticpages/index.php/edit/#############" instead of the correct "/staticpages/index.php?mode=edit&sp_id=###########" link which it should show.

I've quadruple checked the installation, recopied the files from the 1.2 tarballs 3 times, but nothing's changed. Static pages work fine, the paths are correct and the only thing wrong is that little edit link (below the Last Updated line) at the bottom of every static page.

The "wrong" edit ("/staticpages/index.php/edit/#############" link lands me at "admin/plugins/staticpages/index.php" aka the Static Page list. I then have to click on the corresponding static page number to edit it.

I've had this problem for quite sometime now (in another GL site) and have tried every possible fix I can think of, including replacing the index.php from CVS - the Edit link just refuses to get updated.

Any help will be greatly greatly appreciated. This thing has frustrated me for way to long. I really need to get it working now I have the staticpage hack installed. I can't just ignore it now Frown

Please help! And thanks

Do you have $_CONF['url_rewrite'] in config.php set to false?

Having this set to true is probably causing your problem. The purpose of rewrite is to remove the ? and & in URLs so they look static to a search engine bot.

There's a note in config saying the staticpage rewrite feature is experimental and still has issues on certain servers like IIS. If you reset that variable to false, I think the edit link URL will return to the format you want. By doing so, it will also change the URL of your staticpages back to having ?'s.

Obviously, this needs to be fixed. Why don't you add it to the bug list here so it doesn't get lost.

Holy Crapola!!!

That fixed it! Woohoo! Thank you thank you thank you.

I never thought or suspected such a simple fix :sheepish: I think I put it to true for both sites during installation intending to implement the staticpage url rewrite (substituting the numeric string to topic names - like you mentioned) but I've never gotten around to doing it.

CVS already covered a "Fixed edit link on main display of static pages " already, so I wasn't sure this was a bug or not.

Guess the only thing is noting url rewrite is off for a vanilla staticpage install.

Again, thanks. You da man!
