How do Install A theme

I uploaded a new theme to the layout dir. But it doesn't come up. Any please help, Thanks in advance. -Eddie

Well, that's really all there is to it, so I'm not sure why it's not working for you ... Make sure you have the files in a directory within the layout directory. I.e. the path to the header.thtml file should be .../layout/YourTheme/header.thtml Also, make sure your webserver has read access to all the files (I've seen some themes with pretty weird permission settings ...). Did you change the default layout in the config.php file? Or at least change your personal preference to the new theme? Dwight

I checked all the permission they are all set at 644 for the thtml. is that right, I looked at the permission for all the other themes at the all are 644.

I did not chage the Xsilver default on the config.php file, or the prefrence on the theme. I didn't know you had the change anything on the OS COMMERCE file. Do I need to change something is the config? what I did check for was the allow user themes = 1 thanks -eddie

I added the theme changer Block to the site and it doesn't appear there as well. this is the site http://www.groovemiami.com/data.php Instructions that came with the theme tarball where un do tarball in layout dir. -thanks

I fixed it, thanks.. For some reason I have 2 layout folders one under my public_html and one under the public_html in geeklog
