heavily modified geeklog?

Hey I was just wondering if there was a way to tell if a site is running Geeklog or not... easter eggs? (not that you have to divuldge any), formatting of HTML specific to geeklog? etc.
I ask because I've just come across Travisaurus.com and it looks as if the guy's running geeklog but I can't be sure. Is it just some hacked up version? If so, can anybody do such trickery? All for now, thank you.

Yes, this is certainly a Geeklog site. Seems like it is run by the same guy as unfound.net which, too, is a Geeklog site.
Look at the URLs, e.g. the one to the profile page.
Btw, there is probably less hacking involved here than one might think. I assume it's mostly a radically stripped-down theme with all the usual stuff left out.
bye, Dirk

ok.... so how would one go about radically stripping it down? I like the left hand side look and the simplicity of it.

Seems like the author simply removed all the left and right blocks from the template. My guess is that he just removed the [left_blocks] variable from header.thtml and [right_blocks] from footer.thtml.
After that, the rest just depends on your HTML abilities ...
bye, Dirk
