I switched my home-grown family website to Geeklog a couple of months ago after being inspired by Blaine's www.langfamily.ca site.

I wanted to share my Geeklog experience, without contributing to the clutter on my family site. I had also received requests from family and friends to assist in setting up similar family oriented sites. So I set up a new site called Kinsfolk.net

The site is pretty bare now as I am spending quite a bit of time helping others set up their sites on Kinsfolk.net. I've just added the GL Forum and a couple of basic plugins. I hope to develop a few new family-oriented plugins and make them available on Kinsfolk.net

Anyone have a clue on this error? I've been getting it too on a GL site I just moved from one host to another. I haven't searched here for a fix yet...but will do so now! Thanks, Scott

I tried his site twice, and it worked fine both times. In fact, it's working now. He might have been modifying the code at the time you guys checked. Or, there might have been a server problem then.

Whoops! - I was actually working on a problem with SendMail and didn't realize that I had caused a problem with the site. SendMail was identifying itself as "localhost.localdomain", so I updated the HOSTS file so that kinsfolk.net was at the top of the list. This fixed SendMail, but broke Geeklog. MySQL was only allowing connections from localhost. I had to create a new user (for Geeklog) and indicate "kinsfolk.net" as the host. That fixed it.

I'm currently using a program called phpGedView: phpgedview.sourceforge.net. Just wrap it in Geeklog and point it tp your GEDCOM file.

This is one plugin that I would like to work on.
