A Very Simple Block
Anonymous
Anonymous
I am a newcomer to PHP and Geeklog. To help me get started can someone give me the code for a very simple block. A good example would be the "supported by" block on this page.

The "supported by" block is just a "normal" block, i.e. just a piece of HTML. I assume what you're really looking for is a PHP block?
Have a look at the file system/lib-custom.php. It has the code for two simple PHP blocks: phpblock_getBent(), which is the code for the "Are you secure?" block on fresh installations, and phpblock_showrights() which displays the access rights of the current user (you need to create a block calling this function first).
Hope this helps.
bye, Dirk

Thankyou Dirk. I couldn't find anywhere what a "normal" block was. I wonder why it's not called Plain HTML? How simple - Geeklog never stops amazing me on its simplicity once you know what the words mean.

I agree. Everyone I have ever interacted with in this community has
been nothing by nice and helpful. Geeklog itself is great, but feeling
comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas is what makes it even
better.------
