Andromeda turns collections of MP3s and other files into easy-to-use, streaming web sites. It's great as a personal jukebox, over local networks, and even over the Internet. Needless to say, I'm a big fan of the software!
In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?
Over the past few days, I've been working with the creator of Andromeda (Scott Matthews) to figure out how to integrate the Andromeda within Geeklog. Below are the results:
- 1) Download and install Andromeda as instructed. You can download the code from here.
- 2) Create an andromedaPrefs.php file and save it in the same directory as your andromeda.php script. The andromedaPrefs.php file should look like this.
- 3) Download the following Geeklog header/footer php scripts from me: header.php and footer.php. Save the files to header.php and footer.php and place them in the same directory as andromeda.php.
You can see all of the above in action at http://www.squatty.com.

Your link goes to www.squat.com - a UK Telco and pops up 3 or 4 advert windows. Not a lot of fun.
Found your site but the music link can't find andromedia.php
Maybe you are making some changes.

I really want to know if it is possible to stream from Andromeda.
Indeed, I already tested mp3 files and that' OK, but it seems it is not really streaming, because we
have to wait the end of the download to hear the audio.
Same thing for video: I tested with avi files, and the file is not played immediatly.
So, it seems moreover a file server...
Unless I miss some parameters in configuration file of Andromeda... ?
Thank to explain.
