Well, I have finally gotten the Amazon and Google Webservices integrated into Geeklog, as well as eachother and feel comfortable enough to final release them.
I have installed these both on my sites Slapd.Net and My Personal Asylum and they appear to be working as expected...
Features include:
- Google
- Full search abilities, and most advanced search queries supported
- Integrated "related books" search with amazon if configured to do so
- retreval of "cached" pages from Google
- Spelling suggestions for typos in search terms
- Integration with GL's backend DB for counting number of searches per day.
- Amazon
- Keyword, and Bestsellers searches
- cron based GL Blocks for 'canned' displays (only in UNIX currently)
- Full commission
- Basic Wishlist support
- Related items
- AWS 2.1 support
Still to do:
- Show google results for amazon searches
- allow Author, Artist, Director, etc searches
- Hyperlink search results to the above new searches
- Optimize codebase
Full installation instruction are included in the README files, if you have any issues, I will keep an eye on this post at Squatty's site for comments
These are both availble for download at squatty.com
This has been a long hard road, and many thanks to Tom Willett and Squatty for all their help!
Also... Squatty... Thank You for your site, its a thankless gig, but it is appreciated...
