Okay folks, heres one for ya. I just put up a geeklog that I am running for a bunch of my friends and I to use. We are all in the Coast Guard and are on a ship out of Kodiak, AK. I am having a problem with the polls (which has previously been discussed here) where when I place a vote, the poll does not allow any other votes. In the previous post about this they say that the times are set in the Config.php in the following lines of code: $_CONF[\'pollcookietime\'] = 86400; $_CONF[\'polladdresstime\'] = 604800; Now, I can understand that the reason was to prevent flooding the poll. But the problem with this is that all of the votes are coming from the same IP address, which it the router that is used for our satellite link up. Is there any way around this? I have already tried setting them to 0 and 1 with no success. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, setting both variables to 1 should work, I would think. Before you try again, clear out your cookies and the gl_pollvoters table to make sure you don\'t have any entries with the old (longer) times. bye, Dirk

Dirk, Thanks for the quick reply. I tried everything you recommended and it still does the same thing. As soon as the first vote is cast it does not allow any more votes. Anyone else got any other ideas? Thanks, wyccad

confused
Hmm, I just tested it locally with both a 1 and a 20 seconds timeout for both settings and it worked as expected. With 1 second, I could immediately vote again by the time I came back to the frontpage and with the 20 second setting, I had to wait about 20 seconds, do a reload and could vote again.

Not sure why this isn't working for you ...

bye, Dirk
