How to put a new block in.

I was wondering if someone can tell me how to add a new block to my site....and how to add a Link block.... On the first block i would like to put this in.... Thanks....

From the Admin menu, select \"Blocks\", then \"New Block\". There are three types of blocks. Simply create a \"normal\" block and enter some HTML as the content. bye, Dirk

I did create a new block and put the following in as the content
History
I was hoping to make a link to a static page. But it doesn't work.
Do I need to do soemthing with the php function section of configuring the new block?

Doh! - that was a mistake
I see now I was missing an "=" after the href
Now it works perfectly Big Celebration
