MySQL runs on another OS; can\'t run mysqldump from GL

MySQL is running on a backend server under Novell NetWare 6. NetWare\'s implementation of MySQL does indeed include a mysqldump module (SYS:MYSQL/BIN/MYSQLDUMP.NLM), however, the system hosting GL is running OS/2 Warp 4.5, which can\'t (for obvious reasons) locally execute a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM). The system is indeed logged into the NetWare server, so access to the NetWare filesystem is not an issue (i.e., I can easily find f:/mysql/bin/mysqldump.nlm). (Hehehe... backslashes get stripped from postings; my initial edit had backslashes in the paths instead of slashes.)
Perhaps a better understanding of how GL uses mysqldump (dumb question?) is in order. Is it possible to run the mysqldump binary on the GL box, to dump a MySQL database running under another install of MySQL? Getting & installing MySQL for OS/2 is no problem, but I don\'t know how the communication would work between the two boxes for this.
TIA

I don\'t think there\'s an easy way to execute a program on another server, using only PHP (fortunately, I may add). Geeklog\'s backup facility just wasn\'t designed for this setup ...
Given that some people are having problems running mysqldump in (some) hosted environments, maybe someone wants to contribute a backup via MySQL\'s BACKUP TABLE?
bye, Dirk
