Some of the rss feeds I'd like to use don't seem to work with GL. For example, http://wifinetnews.com/index.rdf seems to leave me with a wait pointer forever, and results in a GL error log entry of:
Sun Jul 27 00:10:30 2003 - 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query SQL in question: UPDATE gl_blocks SET content = '<!-- <ul> --><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/002002.html">Free Pays More Than Fee?</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/002001.html">Flickenger's Latest Edition</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/002000.html">Portugal Pushes Wi-Fi to Academia</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001999.html">Sur La Plage, Sans Fils</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001998.html">France Liberates 2.4 and 5 GHz</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001997.html">St. Louis-Fi</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001996.html">Aggregators Have Good Financial Day</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001994.html">AT&T Wireless Works on Next Generation</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001993.html">MIT Tests Self-Organizing Wireless Network</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001992.html">Paris Wi-Fi: Drizzle, Not Sizzle</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001991.html">Airpath Ascendancy</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001989.html">More on Worldwide Roaming</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001988.html">It's Out of the Ballpark</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001987.html">T-Mobile, BT Join Asian Consortium?</a></li><li><a href="http://wifinetnews.com/archives/001985.html">Wayport, Belle or Bell of Wi-Fi Ball?</a></li><!-- </ul> -->' WHERE bid = '19'
Obviously, the majority of the log entry is the rss data itself. This isn't the only site which gives me trouble, though. There are a few others which behave similarly. Is this a timeout or size setting in php.ini, perhaps?
TIA

Reading the error message, I don\'t think the problem is with the RSS feed (which works fine for me, btw). Obviously, it already got all the data from the feed and only ran into trouble when writing it to the database (RSS feeds are cached by Geeklog).
I\'d say the problem is on your side.
bye, Dirk
