i installed the manual digest plugin a few days ago and i\'ve got a few strange problems.
1) even though the moderator account isn\'t subscribed to any topics, it gets an email fro mall topics. i even took all its user rights away (leaving it with \'All Users\' and \'Logged-in Users\') and it still gets an email.
2) an email is sent with no recipient addresses. no one in the to field. i\'ve checked all the accounts and they all have valid email addresses. i\'m a at a loss here.
any ideas? this happen to anyone else, or is it just me?
thanks

Just to make that clear: Those problems aren\'t caused by the Manual Digest plugin but they are in Geeklog\'s Daily Digest code. The plugin simply calls a function in Geeklog.
I haven\'t seen the problem you have with the Admin account, so I can\'t comment on that.
I do have a problem similar to your second problem on one of my sites, though. The cronjob I use there (which calls the same function that the plugin calls) balks occassionally with an error message saying something about an empty email address (can\'t remember the exact wording). I haven\'t been able to track this down, though, since it doesn\'t always happen in the same place. I\'ve added debug code that logs the last successfully sent message and it\'s always a different account ...
Interestingly enough, that happens only for one of my sites. On two other sites, the Daily Digest works flawlessly.
bye, Dirk

i was looking through the sql tables and.. in the gl_userindex.. some of the users have a - for etids and some have nothing.

#1, for example, has nothing. it also has no email associated with it and might be responsible for the blank email?
i\'m using phpmyadmin to look at these, and the rows that have nothing listed actually have a nonbreaking space ( ) when viewing the source in internet explorer. i dunno if this is useful information or not.

after a bit of asking around, all the users for my website i saw today that have a dash in their etids don't get the digest emailed to them, while all the users with the i saw today with the space in their etids do get the stories emailed to them.
the anonymous account has a space, and doesn't have an email associated with the account.
weee.

Does it actually send out any Digest emails? Ma problem, as outlined above, is that it starts sending them out to some users, but then fails about half-way through the list of users.
Try setting \'etids\' for the Anonymous user to a dash. I thought the Daily Digest would skip the Anonymous user but it doesn\'t seem to do so at the moment. So if it doesn\'t send out any emails, this may be the problem.

i've updated all my 'etids' and now only the members who are subscribed to a topic, get a digest.
no more "no recipient addresses" email either. FYI, the moderator account also didn't have the dash.
yeah.
