Windows IIS

Install a Geeklog site under IIS. It works. But I am curious about something. I noticed that it is possible to click on \"edit\" in my brower and see the actual PHP code to the site. No big deal, but I thought one of the things the server side scheme stops is being able to see the code. Now I\'m thinking maybe I don\'t have my IIS server secure enough. If they can see the code, maybe they can change it, etc.... Anyone have experience with IIS? Just like to ask what permissions need to be set - like on the C: drive, on the Inetpub folder, on the wwwroot folder. thnx

Sounds like you have something messed up. The server settings should be such that php code is executed only and not executed plus viewable. I had a couple sites on an IIS server at one time, but it was shared hosting so I don\'t know which of your settings are off. The only time visitors should ever see your code is if IIS dies on you...hopefully, not then either.

Under properties and \"Home directory Tab\" check: script source access check: read next when setting up IIS, you only need to specify the extension .php and associate it with the php.exe (this is under the Home directory/configuration button) example:\"c:php4php.exe\", anything else is NOT nessary, next add in a new startinig doc type called \"index.php\" under the \"documents tab\" and move it to the top. Now this would assume that your php.ini file is set up properly. If these steps are done first you should be able to install GL with no see\'ing of code that was not exe properly.
