Exclude author problem?

Hi,
On one site I am the only author so I wanted to set the user preferences so that they couldn\'t exclude authors.
I changed the $_CONF[\'hide_author_exclusion\'] and it has no affect whatsoever - the exclude items option is still there in the preferences.
Does this not work right does anyone know or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks.

There isn\'t much to misunderstand with this option, I would think It simply hides the list of authors from the user preferences, that\'s all.
Actually, that option was only a hack because the list of authors was so long here on geeklog.net. Blaine made a much nicer, scrollable list that we will probably be including in some future version.
bye, Dirk

Okay I\'ll blame it on too little sleep Actually I thought it would hide the topics too but it doesn\'t do that and that was confusing me.
I resolved the issue by basically commenting out excludeblock.thtml and boxesblock.thtml and that had the desired effect.
Thanks for all your help, time, and hard work on our behalf.
