I’m trying to figure out if Geeklog can meet the below requirements. I believe it can with the correct group/topic permission combination. However, I can’t seem to figure out what the \"correct combination is\".
Any comments, and/or insight on the below would be greatly appreciated!
Here’s the scenario:
I want members of GROUP A to be able to read all content but only publish to TOPIC A.
For example, I created a Topic called \"Foo\" and I assigned it to group \"FooBar\" (in access rights). I want this group to follow site wide rules for accessing stuff but when it comes to publishing, I want a \"Foo\" user to only be able to publish \"FooBar\" stuff.
The end goal is to create several topics where people will really \"blog\", while reserving other topics (including featured articles) to core users which will be on the \"site staff\". Still visitors or registered users can comment, do forum, etc but they can ONLY publish in the group they belong to.
I also plan to develop a custom registration process which will give users a choice of publishing groups at registration. Whether they can pick one or several will depend of the level of technical complexity to implement the functionality. I\'ll probably be happy with one to start.

You\'re already out of luck at this point. If you can see a topic, you can submit stories for it.
I see that there seems to be a need for what I\'d call \"read-only topics\" and I actually plan to look into this to see how feasible it would be at one point. Haven\'t had the time so far, though.
Unless, of course, you\'d like to spend some time on this?
bye, Dirk

I\'ll see what I can do. I\'ve got something working now but, it may not be the best implementation. I\'ll need a few days to flush it out. I\'ll post my solution here when it\'s ready.
