It would appear you have a 1.3.8 version of index.php but a 1.3.7 or earlier release of system/lib-plugins.php The plg_showcenterblock() is a new feature added as of 1.3.8

I used the 1.3.8-1 downloaded here and created two sites without any problem at all. So, it is not the package problem.

Were you upgrading or doing a clean installation?

How did you upload the files?

I think your lib-common is corrupted. I recommend you re-edit and re-upload this file using a fresh copy from the tarball.

Use a pure text editor to modify the config and lib-common files. DreamWeaver and others are not a text editor.

Word Pad works fine. I use MacroMedia Home Site, and sometimes phpEdit. I upload using SmartFTP, as still developing program, but quite smart. Hope this help. Sam

I edited using CuteFTP, and I also used CuteFTP to upload everything. I unzipped all the files using WinZip the first time (this probably corrupted them). I then used WinAce to extract them, and same problem. Finally, I used WinRAR and still getting the same error. If someone could, please send me a copy of lib_common.php to ElissaFTJ@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I use WinRAR and it has never corrupted the file. It the file is corrupted, you will usually find it without normal (easily readable) line breaks. I am not convinced that it is only the lib-common.php and emailing it to you will make the difference, because if lib-common is corrupted, other files would also have. If you are sure the file is corrupt, you should unpack it again. Sam
