Would anyone know what the following error messages is referring to: Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/path/to/geeklog/system/databases/mysql.class.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/rhonin:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/rhonin/geeklog/system/lib-database.php on line 110 Warning: main(/path/to/geeklog/system/databases/mysql.class.php): failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /home/rhonin/geeklog/system/lib-database.php on line 110 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required \'/path/to/geeklog/system/databases/mysql.class.php\' (include_path=\'.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php\') in /home/rhonin/geeklog/system/lib-database.php on line 110 Thx in advance, James

Check here. Doesn\'t look like you read any instructions... Look specifically at step #5 and #6. It explains that you need to edit your config.php and set the paths correctly.

I did configure config.php and lib-common.php. if my root directory is: /home/alpha/ this is my config.php: $_CONF[\'path\'] = \'/home/alpha/geeklog/\'; $_CONF[\'path_html\'] = \'/home/alpha/public_html/\'; and lib-common.php: require_once( \'/home/alpha/geeklog/config.php\' ); any other suggestions?.....

Hi, Here are the steps when I get to the original message: 1. goto http://www.rhonin.net/admin/install/install.php 2. On step 1 of 2 of geeklog installation I put: Installation Type = New Database Path to Geeklog = /home/alpha/geeklog The hint part shows: Hint: The complete path to this file is /home/alpha/public_html/admin/install/install.php 3. Click on Next That is when I get that warning message in my original post. I did configure /home/alpha/geeklog/config.php and /home/alpha/public_html/lib-common.php. So, I\'m stumped at that point. Any help is appreciated. Regards, James

If you\'re still getting an error message that contains \"/path/to/geeklog/\" then you didn\'t change the paths in config.php bye, Dirk

Make sure you are editing the variable and not the commented variable . This mainly pertains to the $_CONF[\'path_html\'] variable.
