How to change the left block menu background color

As Sam already said, that depends a lot on the actual theme you\'re using.
If your looking for a way to have a different look for the left and right side blocks, see this thread (which is also linked from the \"Tips and Tricks\" section of Geeklog\'s theme documentation).

Looks like it\'s this:
table bgcolor=\"#E1E2E5\" ...
right at the end of the clean theme\'s header.thtml file.

Where do I change this in the professional theme? I have checked tips and tricks and seem not to find where Block or table bg color need to be changed.

In public_html/layout/professional/style.css file try to change the F7F7F7 value
Maybe you will also need to make some change in .block-divider and .block-divider-left classes
