How do you work the multiple calendar feature.

I need seperate calendars for different goups, and I read the the new calendar allows for this. My question is, how do I set it up? From what I gather I need to put links to the calendar sending it the group I want events for and it will filter out everything else. Is this correct? And if so, how do I format the link to get events for just one group?
