The best idea I could see for this Geeklog project, which is so far above the competition right now it\'s pathetic, would be to make it a tad bit more customizable. I\'ve been building PHP sites for almost 2 years now and the inner workings of this program make me sick. The security is amazing and the addons that you can make for it is impeccable, but why no customizing the core program? One stupid little title bar and the MD5 (that you can\'t remove) encryption is all it took to make the project I was working on go down the crapper. Let me tell you what I mean:
The Customer currently has a website that is sorely outdated. One of their programmers saw geeklog and liked the options that came with it, but because they have a calendar on their existing site, when the end users saw the calendar link on the GL site, they clicked that, and so on and so fourth generated over 1300 trouble tickets because it didn\'t interface with their email program. I was sent it to finalize it and attempt to replace the title bar link for calendar with the link to the old calendar that has all the algorithms there and pulled half my hair out attempting to locate this link. The documentation is pathetic for adjusting current settings and the control for where everything resides on the server needs to be laid out better. Having to search user comments on a website is such a poor way to document the inner workings of a web based site to begin with.
Overall, I like the site and some of the options that it comes with, but It took me less then 12 hours to build something similar without all the running around that I can completely customize from one single control panel.
Including links on the titlebar.

The FAQ has this entry: How do I change the menu?

Yes, but how can you edit the existing links? From everything I\'ve read, there\'s no way to do so.

Of course there is. Is the FAQ entry not clear enough on that?
Replace the {menu_elements}
variable with plain HTML links. That variable is just there for convenience, you don\'t need to use it (see the XSilver theme, for example).

Maybe you don\'t understand.. I wish to keep the current links there and just relink the calendar link to the existing one instead of using GL\'s. I\'d rather edit one file with a link in it than delete all the links and attempt to search for the other links then readd those... Get my point?

Check out line 825 of lib-common.php
A quick \"find\" of \"calendar.php\" was all it took. Too many hands on my time.

So instead of spending 10 minutes on searching for the links, you\'d rather spend 12 hours rewriting everything?
How hard is it to get the correct links from the browser? Just hover over the links ...

It took me less than a minute to find it, and I\'m no coder.

That\'s what I did before I used \"find\".
Side note: Dirk, you are an incredibly patient person. Too many hands on my time.
