My site is at http://www.shadowrulers.com/geeklog/public_html and do I change the files below? I have changed the last 3 but the first 3 I don't know if I should mess with them.

Directory to store files: /var/www/data/filemgmt_data/files/
Directory to store file thumbnails: /var/www/data/filemgmt_data/snaps/
Directory to store category thumbnails:
/var/www/data/filemgmt_data/category_snaps/
URL to files: http://www.mywebsite.com/filemgmt_data/files/
URL to file thumbnails: http://www.mywebsite.com/filemgmt_data/snaps/
URL to category thumbnails:
http://www.mywebsite.com/filemgmt_data/category_snaps/

When I click ok or go to the next screen, I get this at the top.

Warning: fopen(/home/shadowru/public_html/geeklog/plugins/filemgmt/filemgmt.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/shadowru/public_html/geeklog/public_html/admin/plugins/filemgmt/index.php on line 1169

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/shadowru/public_html/geeklog/public_html/admin/plugins/filemgmt/index.php on line 1194

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/shadowru/public_html/geeklog/public_html/admin/plugins/filemgmt/index.php on line 1195

But that disappears when It goes to the next page. Should I worry about it?

Also for the forum. The installation file says:

layout/ - Theme, CSS and Images directories.

The forum directory under your new plugins/forum/themefiles folder needs to be moved to /public_html/layout/yourlayout directory.

You will need to add the layout files to each of your site theme directory. You need to create a forum subdirectory under each theme directory and place a copy of the plugin layout files.

There are 2 layout folders. One in theme files and one in userupdates. Which one do I use?

You need to copy the forum folder and any files and subdirectories to each of your theme directories. Example layout/XSilver/forum will be a new directory. As users try other themes the forum layout files need to be there. Additionally, the themes can be adjusted as shown on this site per theme.

The theme files under the userupdate directory are optional files that are used to customize the user preferences and account profile features.

You need to set the first three settings to your actual directory path where the download files will exist. This is the reason for your errors. It needs to be the full path name.
