First of all, may thanks to all the people that has made GL possible...

And now, a few questions...

I recently installed geeklog-1.3.8-1, and now I am trying to adapt it to my needs.

One of these is to have html pages with content independent from contributed stories. I suppose static pages are meant for that, but it seems that there is a limit in the size of the html code you can put into them, in my case, a few lines of a 68KB html document cannot seem to get into one of these static pages. Besides, I would like to put those static pages (which are a monthly newsletter that we offer in html and other formats) inside a section, but it seems that inside sections you can just put submitted histories only.

Another problem I have is customized menus. I have deleted the variable {menu_elements} in the header.thtml file, and hardcoded my own links, but I have lost the css styles they had. I am trying to put tags but without success... And this was after seeing that deleting blocks I don't want to use (poll, calendar), their links won't go in the upper horizontal menu... (is this normal?)

I have many more questions but solving the problems listed above would be a good start...

Many thanks in advance...

The External Pages plugin may be what you're looking for.

Have a look at the menuitem.thtml template file of the theme you're using. It contains the HTML that is used to render the individual entries in {menu_elements}.

bye, Dirk

Thanks a lot, looking at the menuitem.thtml template file solved my doubts about adapting the menu.

I have installed the External Pages plugin, but it doesn't do exactly what I want, I think I will use static pages linked from a block and that will work for me.

Thanks!
