Under User Functions on my site, when I try to save something in the Account Information, I get this Specified upload directory, /home/shadowru/public_html/geeklog/public_html/images/userphotos exists but is not writable File Upload Errors: What do I do? I have CHMOD the folder images 777. but there is still the same problem.

I'm fighting this same issue. Mandrake Linux 10, Apache-AdvancedExtranetServer/1.3.29.

Stories, events can be submitted; however, users get this error when saving their account information. Directory existis, permissions are 775 as indicated in the install docs.

Setting the directory permissions for userphotos to the much more lenient 777 solved the immediate problem on my site. It's not the images directory, ShdwRulr, but th e userphotos director as Dirk indicates.
