DB Backup Error

Hey,

I've recently installed Geeklog...Quite new to it, had a few issues with the install but I seemed to have fix them all (permission related issues) until now...I've gone to do a Backup of Geeklog via "DB Backup" option in the block, and I got the following:

Warning: is_executable() [function.is-executable]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/bin/mysqldump) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/httpd/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs) in /home/httpd/vhosts/mysite.com//httpdocs/admin/database.php on line 77

There was an error.

Incorrect path or mysqldump utility not executable.
Check $_DB_mysqldump_path definition in config.php.
Variable currently defined as: /usr/bin/mysqldump

Inititally when I selected the DB Backup, It gave me a "'directory' not accessible" notice, so I re-set the permission on the backup folder and it then seemed to work. Then I clicked the form button to start the backup and it gave me that notice.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I'd appreciate any help!

Cheers,

Tom

It seems your hosting service has the "open basedir restriction" in effect, which limits your access to only certain directories - and the directory for the mysqldump utility is not amongst them.

You could try asking your hosting service for help (show them the error message you get). Otherwise, you will not be able to use the backup feature (you can switch it off in config.php so that it doesn't show up in the menu anymore).

bye, Dirk
