After 1 or 2 security upgrades I noticed that all postings have lost their foramtting on my site.
But the same thing happend on Geelog Site.
I'm trying to find out what to remove but didn't find it yet.

Are you referring to the forum posts? That's unrelated to the security updates. Blaine is working on the forum code and occasionally, the formatting in posts gets lost (on display only - it's still there in the database). He'll work this out eventually ...
You shouldn't see this on you own site, though, unless you've got one of Blaine's Forum pre-releases running.
bye, Dirk

I found out, it's the new modifications to "config.php" from 1.3.8-1 SR1. The new "allowable html codes" removes the formatting of all articles submitted once you edit them or all new submitted articles. If I revert it back everything works fine.
I use htmlAREA, maybe it's only when it is used.
I can't tell for the forum module as I don't use it.

Oh, right, I didn't think about this one.
Yeah, the default settings are a bit conservative. But instead of reverting to an insecure Geeklog install, you should try to figure out which tags and/or attributes are missing and add them in config.php.

I added all the tags I could think of and it's still the same. All html tags are gone. I used Netscape, which doesn't use htmlAREA, and all html tags were also removed.
I had to revert it back to the old "allowed_html" codes.
As I'm not very good at php I can't see what else I should check.

I don't think the problem is with the tags, but with the attributes. Not sure which attributes the forum needs (things like 'align' and 'class' come to mind). You can add them like so:
'p' => array('align' => 1),
etc. Have a look at the HTML that you see for a "working" forum.

It's not in the forum, I don't use it on my site. It' with the articles. If I create a new one of edit an older one (before the upgrade) all formatting is gone.
I dont't have any problem with staticpages. Only with article, so the problem must be somewere else than in config.php

Greetings, geKow
I don't have any error message. My site works fine. Even creating and editing staticpages works fine. The problem is seen only if I create or edit articles. I tried not using htmlAREA... same problem !
The more I search the more I'm getting lost ! ... Searching the same error from 7:00 am till 6:00 pm is too much ! Enough for today. If I keep looking for the problem today I'm gonna dream about it. (and maybe find the answer !)
Thanks for your help,
Alain

Stop looking !
I found " M Y E R R O R ". I have a lot of mod in lib-common.php, so I can't just copy it over the old one. I edited the old one and missed the function that checks html tags.
It's now fixed.
I'm sorry
