Upgrade v1.3.1 to 1.3.8

I'm trying to upgrade my 1.3.1 installation to 1.3.8. When I run the /admin/install/install.php script with the upgrade database option and select the current version [1.3.1] it proceeds to tell me that "geeklog02.gl_userindex' doesn't exist". Can anyone offer me some assistance?

maybe 'cause it's named geeklog02.userindex (no gl_)?
