Find the HtmlArea hack by TomW... This would be the simplest solution I've ever found yet. It applies to any textarea you specify. Documentation is easy too follow.

Search for HtmlArea here on the Geeklog site.

you can "try" to integrate HTMLArea 3.0 Beta. It supports other browers (not 100% sure aboot mac's though)
