Hi there,
would it be possible to restrict access to any given forum
so that only registered people with usedId and passwd could
access the posts there?

Actually, in Forum 2.2 if (as admin) you select the options that users must be registered
in order to acces the forum ther is only a button to have ANY user register
so there is no control over which user is allowed to participate.

You also have the option when setting up a forum to assign it to a group. There are private forums for example on this site - Oh yeh
